The world has changed. Ever since 9/11 the world has become a different place and we all know what the western world think but what about the people who are raging the war? The thing I liked about this movie was that this tries to answer that question.
Too often (especially Americans) its all about “kill the terrorists” and from the ‘Terrorists’ point of view its “kill the infidels (Americans)“. As you can see this does not get us anywhere at all.
Please note that this is not a post from a religious POV
In recent movies like this and the latest Bourne movie hand held camera action scenes are all the rage however I have to wonder just how many people have been motion sick from all the swaying? I think hand held action scenes are cool but they can be very much over used, the Bourne movie was over used but The Kingdom was just right imo.
The last scene was the most powerful in my opinion which illustrates that while we are different we are not really that much different.
When Jennifer Gardiners friend was killed the leader (Jamie Fox) leant over and whispered something to her. At the end the leader of the killings while mortally wounded and dieing also whispers something to his granddaughter. What did the two whisper?
The same exact sentence “I promise you, we will kill every last one of them“. If we all think this from both sides what is the outcome?
I was gently surprised to see some Muslims in the same movie theater and hopefully no more miss education will cause people to hate and kill. I do think it will take more than movies to do this but this can be the start.
