Last Thursday I went to get my ribs X-Rayed due to them hurting for a few days. When the docs asked me about my medical history, they jumped up and down and got very concerned when I mentioned I had Hodgkins cancer in my neck area (read my story about cancer hear).
Today I am going to talk about rebuking the words that have been spoken over you, As soon as the docs got concerned all of a sudden the word ‘cancer’ comes to mind and the devil started to tell me:
- “the cancer has come back”,
- “You were never healed in the first place” and or
- “You have sinned and God is punishing you again”.
Or maybe you have heard these words spoken before:
- “Your useless”,
- “What a failure”,
- “She/ He doesn’t love you anymore” and or
- “If God was real….”
I have heard these words spoken to me countless times and as I was sitting in my car at the docs, I had two decisions to make: 1) Accept words and get worried about being sick and or 2) Rebuke the words and the devil over your mind and life and give God praise. I chose decision 2.
The Tongue and the Negative Words Come from Hell
Just recently I wrote a sermon on the power of the tongue and what got me when studying James 3:2-11 was verse 6 and that these words spoken are actually from Hell.
And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.
So when someone or the devil speaks something negative over your life. Do you accept it and allow that curse be spoken over your life or do you rebuke that word? Take my word for it, REBUKE IT and send it back to the pit of hell!
