Verse 4: Never understood why Jesus said not to tell others after he healed people. Was it because it wasn’t his time & if so why wasn’t it? Was it because he had more to do than just heal people? Like teach, disciple?
Verse 13: It says the servant or son/ boy (depending on translation) was healed that hour. Does that mean he went back home & the person was still not healed? He had to wait a bit?
If so that takes faith. Sure he wouldve rocked up home & saw him still sick & he wouldve gone through many mixed feelings “he lied”, “he’s a fake” etc or wouldve he showed the same faith as when he said “just the word”?
Verse 19-22: I remember that this is another cultural example that we need to understand. As it makes it seem from a western pov that Jesus is being harsh. From memory the Isrealits do not do funerals like us. I must research more on this.
Verse 23-34: did Jesus go all this way just to touch this one person & deliver him from his illness?
