First let me debug the BIGGEST lie to Christian kids.

Your testimony as a Christian kid is MORE powerful NOT less

Like I said before, people rate sinners testimonies more than Christian kids. I hear Christian kids worsen their testimonies to make them sound tougher and better sinners. Now everyones testimony is important and powerful BUT if your testimony is about you NOT doing these BIG SINS things (drugs, sex, booze etc) that is POWERFUL because you have said NO and stood up for your beliefs.

Anyone can say yes but it takes something special to say NO.

Being a Christian kid is beneficial more than not being brought up in church, while some people may not view it as so. Let me point out a few reasons why it is more beneficial to be a Christian kid.

1) Grow up with miracles as a common thing

I was lucky enough to be brought up in a church that was in the middle of a revival with people being healed, slain in the Spirit, words from God etc almost a common happening in church. This is great as it births something into your life and you grow up KNOWING that God can heal, touch peoples lives etc as you have seen it all the time, so your faith is greater as you have seen it with your own eyes.

It also makes church fun as you get to see things many of your non-Christian mates ever will.

2) Grow up with Godly morals

At a young age your mind is like a sponge and so all the bible stories and scriptures helps as its embedded in your mind. This includes Godly morals and also other theological/ scripture knowledge that will stay with you and help you when tempted and struggling in life.

3) Christian Kids ARE the most important resource of your church.

So if your a Christian/ church kid YOU ARE important and God has a plan and reason why you were brought up in church (or got saved at a young age). If you are an adult, parent or a youth leader you need to treat the Christian kids with respect, nurture them and treat them like young adults and not kids.

The fact that you said that a christian kid’s testimony is MORE powerful already puts you on my happy list.

It’s taken me quite a while to see that, and it’s good to find you mentioning that here.

I’m 20 years old and have been a word of faith/assemblies of God Christian since the age of 6. when i was younger, i decided to rebel against the norm of rebelling against order. I was not close to my peers, and had more empathy for what my parents/pastors/elders thought than passion for what i wanted or desired. I’m paying the cost for that now.

Any of Christ’s kids out there reading this: Don’t be afraid to speak up! Christ never remained silent when he saw wrong, especially with the church. Find for yourselves what God means to you, and what you want from your walk with Him. Give everything to him, but for your parents: it’s as the song says “Surrender, Surrender, but don’t give yourself away.”

I am glad that you agree with me and while you and me know and realise this, majority of the church do NOT, which is sad. However with us preaching this, telling people this and God using our words the Church world will finally use their greatest asset, the Christian kids…

You raise an interesting point that some Christian kids (and adults) are so encouraged to follow like a blind rat (this is cult-ish) and not ask questions and stand for what you believe. You will only learn by asking etc. This is the way Jesus’ disciples learnt, by asking what the parables meant after Jesus had talked about them.

but for your parents: it’s as the song says “Surrender, Surrender, but don’t give yourself away.”

This comes down to the point that you should honour and obey your parents but not become a mindless robot.

Thanks for your comments Floyd and I hope to see more :D
