Last Tuesday we had our weekly prayer night and we had a great discussion about the great commission. One of the young men raised a very good point about the healing debate that every Christian tends to argue about.
His point was “Why do we give up on praying for people?”
Why do we not see healings in todays world like we read about in the bible? Did healings finish along with the apolistic reign which people say ended when Jerusalem was destroyed in ~70 odd AD? Or is it simply a lack of faith?
Well this week we have Valentine’s day and while it is just another money making day, I thought I will do the same and find out were it originally came from.
It is ok to ask questions about church, the way things are done and why Jesus/ God does things the way He does. BUT why do some churches and Christians frown upon this? Maybe its because they do not understand themselves….
This is not a ‘Slam the Potters House’ post. The church is a move of God and most of the people are saved and doing God’s work by reaching the lost and seeing people saved. However due to several circumstances people leave and this post is for the person who wants to survive and stay saved after leaving the fellowship.This is what helped me during my transition of leaving the Potters House and continuing on through God and following Gods plan for my life.
We all use Xmas as a short hand for Christmas but is it bad? I have been told that it means its crossing out Christ from Christmas or is this just a Christian theory and scare tactic?
Saint Nick was a bishop from modern day Turkey but what makes him so famous is that it he who inspired (with help from Coca Cola) one of the most famous characters of the world and that is Father Christmas, or Santa Claus.
So how do we reach the western world in todays society? Do we leave it to our Pastors and Politicians or do we rely on the thousands of tracts and event after event to make the difference? Or do we get off our bum and through our lives and relationships we make the difference by the way we live in the fallen world?

We live in a selfish and self centered generation and the gospel music is no different. Who is sick of just singing about ourselves in church? Who wants to go to sing about Gods love, his power, his grace, his healing power?
So won’t the real Jesus Christ please stand up, please stand up, please stand up? Instead of asking the real Slim Shady to stand up, we want the real Jesus to stand up. We wont to follow the real Jesus, a mans man.
